SJ Derby Girls a hit at The Gardens 50s Night!

On October 17, 2013 the ladies of SJDG were invited to participate in a 50s-themed party celebrating the anniversary of a local nursing home. The Gardens at Cross Keys in Glassboro, NJ has a reputation of going big when it comes to their annual celebration. This year they turned the lobby into a real time warp, a sock hop with lots of milkshakes, leather jackets, puffy skirts, and roller waitresses!

While Elvis was keeping the crowd dancing, the roller girls were outside welcoming guests and putting on a show for the residents. The girls kept it interesting by skating backwards, spinning, leg whipping and even passing food trays from skater-to-skater. Eventually, the girls made it inside to pose for pictures and dance with guests. The night was a total success! These derby girls can't wait to help out The Gardens at Crosskeys sometime in the near future!
